Commissioned to create additional habitable space
The Brief:
Our clients, Mr and Mrs Hargreaves, wanted to create additional habitable space in their basement in order to add a Basement Bedroom, Basement Play Room and Basement Shower Room. Their property consisted of a large period semi-detached house in Mobberley Cheshire
They commissioned Pure Basement Systems to convert their cellar by designing and installing a waterproofing system which would remediate their damp issues resulting in a dry basement. The basement had unsuccessfully tanked previously. After the basement waterproofing system was complete Pure Basement Systems completed a full fit-out consisting of Bespoke Joinery, Tiling and finishes
Result:
Working in partnership with Mr and Mrs Hargreaves, Pure Basement Systems specified a structural waterproofing package to combat the damp. We installed a high performance waterproofing system, complete with a twin sump pump station, perimeter drainage channels and sealed floor and wall cavity drainage membrane. High quality insulation was installed to compliment the waterproofing system and full plastering completed the basement conversion. The basement received a full fit out including bespoke joinery, tiling and finishes.
The completed project added significant additional dry light warm basement space that Mr and Mrs Hargreaves required, improved the internal air quality and also added value to the property.
