Commissioned to create dry usable basement space in a new build property
The Brief:
Mr Crowther commissioned Pure Basement Systems to specify and install a bespoke waterproofing system to BS8102:2009 to the basement at his new build detached property in Wheldrake, York. Our client wanted to use the basement space to create two en-suite bedrooms, a tv room and a services/boiler room and required a waterproofing specialist to provide a robust waterproofing system due to the property being located in a high flood risk area.
The Result:
Working in partnership with Mr Crowther, Pure Basement Systems designed a structural waterproofing package to protect the property from any ingress of flood water and associated damp. We installed an internal cavity drainage waterproofing (type c system), complete with two twin sump pump stations, perimeter drainage channels and sealed wall and floor cavity drainage membrane. This complimented the newly installed structurally integral concrete waterproofing (type a system) and the external tanking (type b system) at the new build property. Once the waterproofing was completed to a high standard, Pure Basement Systems handed the project back to Mr Crowther to complete the build.
The completed project provided our client with an additional useable level of habitable space and added value to the property.
