Rochdale, Greater Manchester Basement Conversion for Dry Storage Use
Our client in Rochdale wanted us to help them turn a flooded cellar in their Victorian mid-terraced home into a simple and functional dry storage area. They did not require a full basement conversion (habitable space) but needed a robust and quality waterproofing system to protect their possessions from rising ground water, which occurred during heavy rain.
To meet this specification, we installed a single automatic Sump Pump with Alarm Pack, created perimeter floor drainage channels and applied cavity drainage membrane to walls and floor. We then installed a protective composite floating floor to complete the project to our client’s requirements.
The new dry storage area has allowed our clients to create extra space in their above ground living areas simply by moving items into their new basement. These items would have perished in prior conditions as the basement was very wet and damp.
