Commissioned to create Additional Living Space
The Brief:
Mr Banks commissioned Pure Basement Systems to perform the waterproofing and extensive associated building works necessary to convert the damp basement in his traditional Victorian stone mid-terrace house in Pudsey, Leeds into a family entertainment room, wc and storage room.
The Result:
Working in partnership with Mr Banks, Pure Basement Systems specified and installed a robust bespoke waterproofing system to combat the damp affecting the area complete with a twin sump pump station, perimeter drainage channels and sealed wall and floor cavity drainage membrane.
The extensive associated building works included:
Refurbishment of the light wells in the basement, fitting new doors and windows (including an escape window to maximise natural light), fitting a drainage lift pump to deal with the waste from the wc, installation of high quality insulation and full plastering. Bespoke joinery work was undertaken for our client’s specific storage and media requirements along with the specialist restoration of the original cast iron range.
The completed project facilitated additional living space for our client and his family and a bespoke storage area. The works also improved the internal air quality and added value to the property.
