Contracted to transform a flooded basement into a home office and study
The Brief:
Mr & Mrs Clarke commissioned Pure Basement Systems to specify and install a robust structural waterproofing system in their damp basement which was prone to flooding at their large Victorian Semi-detached property in Harrogate, North Yorkshire and to then convert the previously unusable area into a home office and study.
The Result:
Working in partnership with our clients Pure Basement Systems designed a bespoke structural waterproofing system to prevent future water ingress and combat the damp affecting the area. Pure Basement Systems installed a high performance waterproofing system, complete with a twin sump pump station, perimeter drainage channels and sealed wall and floor cavity drainage membrane. High quality insulated dry lining was then installed to compliment the waterproofing system. Pure Basement Systems also fitted a double glazed escape window in compliance with building regulations and LED lighting in the staircase. Full plastering and joinery completed the project creating a high quality, dry, light and well insulated Home Office and Study.
The completed basement conversion added both additional living space and value to the property.
