Commissioned to create an en-suite bedroom, sitting room and utility area.
The Brief:
Mr & Mrs Reeve commissioned Pure Basement Systems to design and install a bespoke basement waterproofing system for their large stone period property in Harrogate, North Yorkshire which suffered from flooding and damp. They also wanted us to create an additional bedroom with ensuite bathroom, sitting room and utility area to the basement area.
The Result:
Working in partnership with our clients Pure Basement Systems specified a robust structural waterproofing package to combat the flood water and damp ingress. We did some structural alterations to facilitate the new rooms to be created and then installed a high performance waterproofing system, complete with a twin sump pump, perimeter drainage channels and sealed wall and floor cavity drainage membrane. High quality insulated dry lining was installed to compliment the waterproofing system. Full plastering, joinery, floor coverings and the installation of the en-suite bathroom completed the basement conversion creating not just significant extra living space but also adding value to the property.
